Dr. Sue McTaggart first founded the clinic, then called Deep Cove Pet Clinic, in a small in-home facility on Cromar Road. She began to build her client base and operated at this location until 1992 when she re-named the clinic McTavish Pet Hospital and moved to a larger location on McTavish Road. As the practice grew, Dr. McTaggart welcomed Dr. Christina Klimaschka and who joined the practice as an associate.
In 2011, influenced by her growing number of dental clients, Dr. McTaggart moved the clinic to its current and final location at 1700 McTavish Road. As Dean Park Pet Hospital, the new facility hosts a larger reception area and multiple exam rooms, as well as separate surgery rooms for dentistry and general surgeries. As well, there is an in-house lab, 3 digital x-ray units, the latest in dental equipment technology, and the only Cone Beam CT in the country. This is used to examine the head in 3D as never before.
In 2018, Dr. Nicola Parkinson joined the practice as a partner with Dr. McTaggart and brought with her a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise.
